I absolutely love when two (artistic) worlds collide… Last August, Harper’s Bazaar commissioned “The Simpsons go to Paris with Linda Evangelista” featuring illustrations by Matt Groening and artwork by Julius Preite. For just over a week, Alexa Rad and I have called a suite at Beverly Wilshire home. Alexa is probably the only person I can be trapped in a confined space with without losing my mind - especially in Los Angeles. I didn’t realize how much I would miss our little (dysfunctional) apartment until this morning - when I woke up and didn’t find her in the living room, frantically juggling conference calls while casually bragging that she had “fixed my laptop by dropping it”. Miraculous.

We then headed to The Woods (which has a similar theme to Aspen). Although I’ve only been once prior, the bar seems to be a favorite among Hollywood natives. It also provided the perfect opportunity to introduce Marco Bollinger and Tyler Shields. I always enjoy meeting other designers, and therefore assumed the same rule to be applicable between photographers. Several of us concluded our night by heading back to the hotel. I’m not sure exactly when I decided that swimming in my underwear was a brilliant idea… However, I do know that around 3am security was determined to convince me otherwise - by swiftly escorting me out of the pool. Charming.

After dinner, we met up with Marco Bollinger and Edwin Lopez at Sidebar. Sidebar is the (appropriately named) lounge at Wolfgang Puck and Richard Meier’s creative collaboration - Cut. Though the architectural lines of the restaurant are gorgeous, I was far more smitten with the photographs adorning the walls…
